909-239-5374 Colors on Concrete owner, Marty Meewis, Upland, CA, engraved a logo onto the floor for a client. Professional, tasteful work.

Colors on Concrete owner, Marty Meewis was approached by a customer who liked a design seen in Concrete Network where Marty markets his business. The customer asked if a similar design could be done for his eye care office.

Marty replied, “Yes, but why don’t we use your logo in the design instead?” The customer’s response was, “Can we do that?”

The photo shows Marty sure could do it. He used a Mongoose 411 cutting unit to cut the major eye shape on the logo. Then he designed the “people” who make up the ‘pupil of the eye” freehand with a Wasp concrete engraver.

On first glance, you can understand why this doctor is a satisfied customer. The logo is graceful. The engraving enhances that, plus offers a low maintenance floor advertisement that is in professional good taste.

909-239-5374|Colors on Concrete, owned by Marty Meewis of Upland, CA, engraved a map of the United States on the concrete at St. Irenaeus Parish School in Cypress, CA

The students at St. Irenaeus Parish school in Cypress, CA share their patriotic spirit with one another at playtime every day because they have a 27 ft. x 38 ft. map of the United States on the concrete at their school. The map is located in the courtyard/mezzanine of the school and has enjoyed quite a few little shoes walking across it.

The map has been at the school for a number of years, but the states’ shapes were always painted, an annual project.

A parent approached Colors on Concrete asking about a better solution. Marty Meewis, owner of Colors on Concrete came to the rescue. Each state shape was cut out of poster paper then taped onto masonite to create a more permanent template shape. The coloring is epoxy tinted with bright pigments for a permanent, easy to maintain map. The borders between states and all around the map were engraved with Engrave-A-Crete’s Kaleidocrete tools which include a Shark, Barracuda and Wasp.
