Barracuda Maintenance | Engrave-A-Crete

Today, Chris shows you how to change the impactors on your KaleidoCrete Barracuda from Engrave-A-Crete.

Hi, I’m Chris Mirabal, senior tech advisor at Engrave-A-Crete. Today, we’re in the assembly room of our manufacturing facility in Mansfield, MO. And today, we’re going to maintenance concrete peckers. I’m going to show you how to change the impactors in the Barracuda. Where the trigger is, I like to reference that as the top. And we’re going to loosen the four bolts at the top collar. To do that, we’re going to take a 7/16 wrench and a hex key. We’re going to simply loosen up the four bolts. Once I have loosened up the bolts on the top collar, here, we simply thread off the intermediate tube. We have a spring. We can simply slide that right back into the intermediate tube.

Hold the impactors in our hand. In my right hand, I have the anvil. And the impactors simply sit inside of the collet. The collet has holes that go all the way through. Set these impactors off to the side. Grab our new impactors and we’re going to simply shake them around. It’ll all start to fall into place. The last couple you have to put in manually. Once we have the impactors in place, we can take the anvil & simply slide it inside of our collet.

If for whatever reason, you do put it upside down, one, you can’t hold it in one hand, and two, you will blow apart the intermediate tube. We’ll simply take our impactors and slide them right down inside. And we’ll get it right back into our intermediate tube and our spring. We’ll take a glance at the pneumatic parts. Make sure that everything moves freely. Thread it all back together. Once everything is threaded back into place, we will take our collar, slide that right back up.

We’ll take our nuts and our bolts and tighten those back down. Last thing you want to do, is take some air tool oil and right into the air end with it, we want to drop somewhere between eight to ten drops of oil.
